Treatment Approach and Training

I am honored to provide support and guidance for individuals seeking personal growth and change in their life. My treatment approach is strength based and trauma-informed. I strive for cultural humility and I prioritize understanding my client’s unique perspective in life. Holding space for exploring the impact of history, lived experience, and environmental, cultural, and social contexts is critical. In partnership with my clients, I build a safe and compassionate space to reflect, gain insight, and practice skills to thrive and move into a more authentic space.

I have specialized training and significant experience in addressing mood and anxiety symptoms related to pregnancy and postpartum, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and family adjustments. I’m passionate about supporting individuals and families with these issues.

I leverage my knowledge of healthcare and community systems to empower clients to advocate for their needs. I’m also available to collaborate with medical providers and others to support wellness for my clients.

Some of the evidenced based interventions that I frequently use, include but are not limited to: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT,) Behavioral Activation (BA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure therapy, Mindfulness-based interventions, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT,) and Problem Solving treatment (PST).

Ongoing learning is essential to me. I regularly take part in continuing education trainings to expand on my knowledge and broaden my therapeutic community while following research in my areas of practice.

I encourage clients to let me know how they prefer to work together and welcome feedback throughout our process.

About Me

I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and a Graduate Certificate in International Development and Policy Management from the University of Washington in 2006. Before starting my therapy practice, I worked in health care settings as a bilingual (Spanish) social worker and therapist collaborating with other medical providers to support perinatal and pediatric mental health, parenting concerns, and adults with complex medical conditions. Most recently, I worked as a Clinical Trainer at the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences training, coaching, and developing curriculum for perinatal, pediatric, and adult integrated behavioral health programs nationwide while maintaining a small private practice. In early 2026 I transitioned from UW to expand my private practice full time.

My work is shaped not only by professional experience, but also by personal experiences with fertility challenges, grief and loss, caregiving, and bicultural identity. I bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion to the therapy relationship, and value creating a space where clients feel understood and supported.

In my free time I recharge through nature, movement, music, and travel. I’m raising two active children and I care deeply about how we build community, engage as global citizens, and staying connected to my Middle Eastern and German heritage.
